Subject: Paintball camp
Content: I'd like to hear from the parents out there.

I was thinking of starting a summer paintball camp at our local paintball field. I see younger players, newbies, inexperienced players, all asking quesations in these forums trying to learn. I wanted to take that to the field and give them an opportunity to learn and try stuff, and ask questions without the pressure of open play, and disrupting regular open play games. The owner and I are still in the throws of cussing and discussing, working out some details, et cetera. I'd like to put it by you, John Q Public, to let me know what you think of our idea. It would be a weekend outing, offered two or three times (June, July, August). Minimum number of kids would have to something like 12 or so, and max out at 32 or so. Ages 10-17. The kids would get fed breakfast, lunch and dinner, for both days. The fee for the camp would cover field fees, paint, food, and a t-shirt. It would begin with a morning "classroom", to cover safety, rules and regulations, honorable play, basic airsmithing (such as where is the velocity adjuster on my markerand how to read hydro-test dates on your tank), and the basics of the game. In the afternoon, we would take to the field. That evening we would do some light field work, such as picking up trash, building stick bunkers in the field, making sure boundry markers are in place, et cetera. This will help to give them a sense of ownership in their "homefield". Maybe we can keep them from becoming vandals, or slobs who littler the field, this way. Sunday would start over with more classroom stuff like strategy, tactics, angles, camoflague, and in the afternoon take to the field again. It would be run like a private game, so they would not be playing with Johnny Megasplatter and friends. We would control the tempo of the games, by having our own OpFor. Would $150.00 be too much for two days meals/drinks, a case of paint, field fees (for two days), and a t-shirt? Give me some feedback, please.
