Finally our Jerseys
DATE: 22 Apr 2007, 7:28 pm / MOOD: Happy
After months of bickering and indecisiveness, we finally will be receiving our new jerseys. Aside from getting a team and keeping it together. I would say designing a jersey is the next toughest thing to do. I was definitely one that was against the design but majority rules. This is another step to validate the team. You have been able to acquire local sponsors but we want to be able to get industry sponsors. The jerseys are one more step toward that. Next step is building a website. We got the domain name already. I will publish it when the site is ready. I'll post picture with the new jersey next week

Finally
DATE: 06 Dec 2006, 9:12 pm / MOOD: Full of life
After many months of practicing (spending money), and not to mention spending more money. We finally played our first tournament. Although we came in 9th out of ten teams. The teams we played were D2, D3 and teams that have been playing together for a lot longer than we have. No matter cause we had a great time. Did I mention we spent a lot of money? We played at Spray Paint in Homestead, FL. It was a PSP event so ramping was allowed. There is a lot to improve but we got our first one under our belts or harnesses. We had some friends’ video tape all our matches and we are getting together this week to watch and critique our play. To all of you trying to get a team together be patient. It is not easy keeping a group together to play and especially not easy to get the funding to play every week. Keep at it though because it's worth it. Till next time

Ouch
DATE: 24 Aug 2006, 6:49 pm / MOOD: Sore
We had our Wednesday practice. As usual it started with a twenty minute warm up run. That went well. Getting back into the running groove, feels good. After, we went on to running ten sprints. For sure this will help at the break. Sprinting is definitely not my forte but i gave it my all. Instead of bunny hops this week we did walking lunges. I don't know what's worse. OK, here comes the ouch part, our captain decided to practice superman slides. Bad idea. At six feet and 220 pounds you tend to hit the ground hard. The grass we were practicing on is not that smooth either. Thank goodness it was wet. Well, I sprinted as fast as i could and took a dive. Somehow I landed on my right shoulder. Ouch! I super sore and it really hurts to move my arm. No more sliding practice for back players. It's not worth getting hurt at practice. Hopefully i will be able to play on Sunday. Keep it safe everyone.

Against the Big Boys
DATE: 20 Aug 2006, 4:53 pm / MOOD: Happy
Well it's Sunday. We had to switch our playing day from Sat. to Sun. Problem is that on Sunday at Spray Paint al the Division 2 and 3 teams practice. We knew we were going to get our butts handed to us, but you got to play the best around in order to get better. The first couple of games were like a blur. We played Miami Devious which is a division 2 team. I stayed back middle but did not last too long back there. The game ended with our snake player getting bunkered. Ouch. Still, it was a great day of paintball. I definitely improved my shooting posture. We settled on a team name "Miami Rush". Oh, I also bought one of those portable shades. What a difference. I posted a picture of it.

More Practice
DATE: 16 Aug 2006, 8:51 pm / MOOD: Sore
Today Wednesday We had our first dry practice. We have a team member that is in track and field. He put us through the wringer. We began with a twenty minute jog to warm up. As if it weren't warm enough in Miami. We then did what amount to gassers. We sprinted about thirty yards or so walked back and did it again five times. Took a three minute break. This time we did bunny hops about the same distance. I have a new found appreciation for the Easter Bunny. When done with these drills we practiced proper stance behind a bunker and snap shooting. It was exhausting but I am sure it will pay off at the field. We decided on a name. I won't share it just yet want to register it first. My knees are very sore but it's nothing a couple of Tylenol and ice can't remedy. Definitely 45 is not the same as 22. Well at least I taught my 16yo son that I can keep up with him. Looking forward to Saturday. Till my next chronicle, light up your opponents

Practice
DATE: 13 Aug 2006, 10:32 pm / MOOD: Full of life
Well it's Saturday, the day we always look forward to. It was around 100+ degrees out at the field. First game I threw up from the heat even though I had drank a lot of water. I put in about four games but I felt like I was drained. There was no escaping the heat. By the way I failed to mention we were at Spray Paint in Homestead, Fl. We also had about a twenty minute snap shooting practice. It is not as easy as it seems and it requires practice. This was our first practice at the field. We are trying to put a team together don't have a name yet, that's the hardest part. Trying to get nine guys to agree to a name. Did I mention it was sweltering hot! Well I will continue to chronicle our efforts.
